The next day of Russia's brutal aggression against Ukraine and its people has begun.
The last few days have been particularly difficult for all of us. As a Church, we did not remain indifferent and together we made every effort to help those who need our help.
Not only did our churches engage in prayer, but they also stepped up in offering material help. Already on the first day of the conflict, the churches near the border started to help, creating places of safe refuge, e.g in Chełm, Lublin, and Rzeszów.
In the following days, other churches began to offer their help as well, mainly focusing on providing accommodation, organising collections of food, clothing, hygiene products and sleeping bags. As of today, several dozens of churches together with church institutions and centres all over Poland are involved in providing help.
But this is not the end of our aid measures! We are still in need of prayer and material support.
Each day of helping means expenses exceeding the capabilities of our churches! The costs of on-going aid (food, hygiene products, mattresses, etc.) are already high, but the greatest financial challenge is ahead of us: the cost of electricity and heating will be counted in tens of thousands of zlotys. We must not only provide funds for current expenses, but also ensure that all future utility bills are financially covered. All transfer details can be found below.
If you are willing and able to get involved personally, the best way to do it is to contact your local church and determine the actual needs consulting with the local coordinator, so that the help given is as effective and purposeful as possible.
Last but not least, spread the word: please share what we are doing on social media share and in e-mail correspondence. Use the hashtag #BaptistsForUkraine (#BaptysciUkrainie) every time you share this content on social media.
